Pietra Gray Marble , locally known as Lashootor marble, is a gorgeous, highly dense and resistant Iranian stone. Depending on the background color and the number of white lodes, this grayish-black marble can be classified into different types. The Pietra Gray Marble is one of the most famous and best-selling natural stones in the world. Pietra Gray marble has various applications. For instance, honed and polished Pietra Gray marble is usually used as flooring in public spaces such as lobby, coffee shop, cinema or in the bathroom or even in the living rooms. Polished and Honed Pietra Gray marble slabs and tiles are used to decorate floor, interior walls and stairs. bushhammered Pietra Gray marble, Leather Bushhammered Pietra Gray marble, and Tumbled Pietra Gray marble are used to pave yards and and also as a decorative element in building façade. Windshield and guillotine Pietra Gray marble is used as a decorative stones in building facades. Cubic Pietra Gray marble is used as paving in sidewalks. One of the disadvantages of Polished Pietra Gray marble is that it is decolored in sunlight. Depending on the type of processing, quality and thickness of the stone, Pietra Gray marble's price may vary.

Abrasion Resistance:

Low

This material has low abrasion resistance. It rates as a 1-3 on the Mohs scale. Light scratching will occur with exposure to sand and other abrasives. The finish will patina or dull over time as a result of this scratching. Always use a cutting board for countertop applications and walk-off mats at entrances in flooring applications.

Absorption:

Moderate

This material has a low to moderate absorption rate. Always seal this material prior to use. To reduce the appearance of stains, always wipe up spills immediately. Oil and highly-pigmented liquids can penetrate and stain the stone and may need poultice to remove the stain.

Acid Sensitivity:

High

This material is highly sensitive to acids. Acid etching will be highly visible on this material when exposed to acidic foods such as lemons or tomatoes. Do not use this material on kitchen countertop applications where acid etching is a concern. If acid etching is a concern, select a minimally sensitive material.

Not Recommended

Due to known material weakness or because this material has not been tested, this material is not approved for use in exterior applications.
